WINTER SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i hate winter because hardly any animals are outside. it is also very cold and boring.

softy & friends

I caught a spiny softshell turtle in the Minnesota River. Her name is SOFTY!!!!! she burries herself every day. i think that she is SSSSSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOO cool! I feed her mostly insects. her friends are stubs, squeezer, and squirtle. her friends are painted and red eared slider turtles.

my triops

i got some triops last wednesday at the science museum they lived for less than a week becuse my dad accidentally killed them.

Axolotls

I am planning to buy an axolotl, the white kind(or not). I will buy it from reptilecity.com. Axolotls are mudpuppies,hellbenders, etc. Sometimes salamander larva dont have metamorphisis and are considered axolotls. axolotl's gills are on the outside of thier bodies.

My favorite things

I like to go down to creeks, rivers, ponds,and pretty much any body of water. I like mudpuppies, salamanders, turtles, rats, axolotls, and fish. Reptiles are pretty cool too. I live near the Minnesota River. fishing is my favorite sport, it is very cool to me. my record fish is a 10 pound carp, it took me a long time to reel-in. I love hellbenders, they are soooooooooooo awsome. I hope that more people will view my blog a lot.

my salamander trap

today I came up with a plan to catch a salamander.
1.first I got a sheet of tarp and 10 rocks.
2.next I dug a hole to put a plastic sheet in.
3.i cut a garbage and made it into a plastic sheet.
4.then I put the sheet into the hole and put six rocks(3 rocks on both long ends).
5.i made sure the plastic sheet could hold water.
6.i poured water into the plastic sheet witch was in the hole.
7.finally I put the tarp over the trap so it would be dark in the trap and put 1 rock on each corner.
now i am waiting till tomorrow to see what is in the trap.
